Graduated as a petroleum geologist with Horner degree from Kabul University in 1977, and in 1980 completed a MSc in petroleum geology specialized in petroleum production analysis at Gubkin Institute in Moscow, Russia's leading academic institution for oil and gas industry.
After moving to Australia he had completed a postgraduate qualification at Curtin University of Technology and worked as wellsite geologist at various locations in Australian Basins. In 1991-95 he worked with BHP Petroleum's Russian oil and gas development division as Geologist and traveled extensively in former soviet Union assessing opportunities.
He also worked as petroleum geologist in the Otway Basin for Victorian Government, and in 1997-2006 worked as Reservoir technologist and Artificial lift coordinator as well as well completion and workover supervisor with Esso- Australia.
Hamed joined Monitor Energy in Late 2006 as exploration manager.

John Lang

GIS Specialist
John Lang grew up in England and gained a BSc. Honours in Geology from Bristol University, and then worked and traveled internationally before making Perth, Australia his home. His twenty years oil field experience grew from mud logging, to measurement while drilling, through extended reach drilling, to night company man on offshore rigs.
When family arrived, John studied computing at Murdoch University and has specialized in geographic information systems (GIS) and data management. He has consulted for many major oil companies including Chevron, Apache Energy and BHP Billiton. Prior to Monitor Energy he worked with ConocoPhillips on information solutions for the design, construction and maintenance of the Bayu-Darwin pipeline and the Darwin LNG plant.
John has implemented GIS and information management at Monitor Energy and applied appropriate innovative solutions based on his current MSc. thesis “3D GIS for Geologists using Google SketchUp” at Curtin University.
John joined Monitor Energy Ltd in early 2007.
