The board of directors of Monitor has a well balanced mix of technical, corporate and administrative capacity. Collectively, the board boasts a strong history of project acquisition, development and management and extensive experience in capital raising in Australia and Europe.
Executive Chairman
Long history in oil and gas industry and in particular very experienced in corporate affairs, capital raising and business development strategies. Mr. Spencer was an Executive Director of Hardman Resources Ltd and helped to take the company from AUD0.02 to AUD2.40 per share, or a market capitalisation of A$ 5 million to A$ 1.4 billion at the time the company was taken over by Tullow Oil plc. Mr. Spencer has participated in many capital raisings in Australia, the UK and elsewhere, up to $A167 million in a combined placement and rights issue in early 2004. He is a member of the Australian Institute of Company Directors. Mr Spencer has strong language skills and was stationed in Moscow for over 15 years with the Australian Diplomatic Corps. He is well versed in doing business throughout the globe.
Non-Executive Director
Mr. Gwynne has 17 years experience in senior and corporate management of resource companies registered and listed in Australia and the United Kingdom, with operations in Australia, Africa, South America and the Former Soviet Union. Mr. Gwynne has extensive experience in project acquisition and development in precious and base metals and oil and gas and has undertaken extensive capital raising and marketing for several companies.
Managing Director
Mr. Roestenburg Graduated from Curtin University in 1976 with an applied degree in geology and has since graduated from the Curtin Graduate School of Business with degrees in Leadership, Management and Business. He is a qualified geoscientist with over 35 years of Oil, Gas and Resources exploration and development experience around the globe and has had career postings with large and small companies. Mr. Roestenburg has extensive petroleum experience throughout Central Asia, South East Asia, China, Japan, Korea, Papua New Guinea, Australia and New Zealand. He has held senior technical and managerial positions in Hudbay Oil Australia Ltd, Schlumberger Oilfield Services International, Ampolex Ltd, Mobil Oil International as well as with Shell Minerals. Mr. Roestenburg is a Director of Geotransformations Pty Ltd, a specialist consultancy for subsurface data interpretation for structure, stratigraphy and sedimentology. He has published numerous technical papers and projects and is well regarded in his profession. Mr. Roestenburg has also been a director of technology companies Milrio Pty Ltd and Auscarbon Pty Ltd and is well acquainted with the corporate environment.
Chief Financial Officer
Mr. Aden has over 20 years oil and gas experience in a variety of senior executive positions worldwide, having worked for Hardman Resources, Enterprise Oil, Tap Oil, Cairn Energy and most recently Rialto Energy Limited, where he had responsibility for financial compliance, new venture commercial screening, M&A, strategic/business planning and capital management.
GIS Specialist
John Lang grew up in England and gained a BSc. Honours in Geology from Bristol University, and then worked and traveled internationally before making Perth, Australia his home. His twenty years oil field experience grew from mud logging, to measurement while drilling, through extended reach drilling, to night company man on offshore rigs.
John has implemented GIS and information management at Monitor Energy and applied appropriate innovative solutions based on his current MSc. thesis “3D GIS for Geologists using Google SketchUp” at Curtin University.
John joined Monitor Energy Ltd in early 2007.
Office Manager - Investor Relations
Karen has over 15 years experience in the resources industry and has a wide knowledge of corporate affairs. Karen is responsible for the day to day compliance and reporting requirements of the company.
